About
A calm instructor. A clear plan. Lessons that help you think for yourself.
Learning to drive can feel exciting, stressful or sometimes both in the same lesson. My role is to give you the structure, understanding and support you need to make steady progress without making you feel judged for being a learner.
About me

APPROVED
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR
I’m Dawid, a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and the person behind ID Driving School. I’m originally from Poland and have lived in the UK for many years. I’ve driven in different countries and experienced a wide range of roads, driving styles and conditions, which has given me a broader perspective on what safe, confident driving means beyond simply passing a test.
I’m a dad, so road safety is something that matters to me both professionally and personally. I want lessons to be a place where you can feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and saying when something doesn’t make sense. I’m friendly and relaxed, and there’s definitely room for a bit of humour, but lessons always have a purpose and your progress remains the focus.
When you contact ID Driving School, you’re speaking directly to me — the person who will actually be sitting beside you during your lessons. I like keeping things personal and getting to know the individual I’m teaching rather than treating every learner in exactly the same way.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy travelling, DIY and practical projects, spending time outdoors and going for walks with my daughter and our dog. I also like a good film or series, follow Formula 1, and have an interest in aviation — particularly aviation documentaries and keeping up with what’s happening in the industry.
I enjoy driving myself, but what interests me most as an instructor is helping someone reach the point where driving starts to make sense and becomes enjoyable. Seeing a learner become calmer, make their own decisions and gradually need less help is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
More Than Passing the Test
I believe learning to drive should be a two-way process. I don’t expect you to simply follow instructions without understanding why. I want you to ask questions, challenge things that do not make sense and gradually learn to analyse situations and make your own decisions. As your confidence and ability develop, I step back and give you more responsibility.
Making mistakes is part of learning — what matters is understanding them and knowing what to do differently next time.
For me, being ready to drive is about more than passing a test. It’s reaching the point where you can read the road, anticipate risk, plan ahead and make safe decisions without needing someone beside you to tell you what to do.
